James (Jim) B. Terry, 81, passed away peacefully at home June 9, 2020 due to ALS. He was born June 14, 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia to James Rufus Terry and Julia Jenkins Terry. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Linda Bennett Terry; and sisters, Julia Terry Graves and Jane Terry Ramage. Jim graduated from Tucker High School in 1956 and from Georgia Tech in 1960, with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member, deacon, trustee, and chairman of the building committee of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker, and later Victory Baptist Church in Loganville. He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation as a civil engineer, F. E. Fortenberry & Sons as executive vice president, and founded his own home building, commercial remodeling, and industrial installations business.He is survived by his three children - Jay Alan Terry, Jamie Lynn Terry Meuesen, and Joy Cecelia Terry Tapia; his six grandchildren - Jessica Meuesen Murphy, Linda Terry, David Meuesen, Zachary Bays, Vincent Tapia IV, and Victor Tapia; three great­grandchildren - Jayden Terry, Charlotte Murphy, and Claire Murphy; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives.The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of James B. Terry will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. You can watch the private service on Tom M. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
