Zdzislaw Stanislaw ?Stan? Foltyn was born in Radom, Poland on February 15, 1927 and left his body in his ?hometown? of Snellville, GA, USA 4:39 AM, Tuesday October 16, 2007. Stan is survived by his wife of 42 ½ years, Oksana, and their 4 children Martha, Yarko, Kasia & Igor. He is also survived by his grandchildren Madeline, Shelby, Chase, Chance, Emma, & Isabella. His surviving sister, Maria Foltyn, is the National Operatic Director of Poland and lives in Warsaw, Poland. His grandson, Ethan, preceded Stan home. Stan Foltyn graduated as an Engineer from the Merchant Marine Academy of Poland and spent 5 ½ years in US Army Military Intelligence to gain his US citizenship under the Lodge Act Program. He holds several US and Worldwide patents from the development of fiber optic and copper cabling and production design. He is the recipient of the Polish Eagle, the equivalent of the US Congressional Medal of Honor, for his heroism and unselfish acts as a Partisan in the Polish Resistance during WWII from 1939-1945. A wonderful husband, loving father (Tatus) and grandfather (Dziadzio), and avid saltwater fisherman and hunter, he is missed by those of us left behind. We are happy he is home with the Lord. We are blessed to have his grace and wisdom in our lives. A Memorial Liturgy Celebration will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at St. Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church. Fr. Jim Henault & Fr. Matthew Schroeder to officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, October 19, 2007 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home with a prayer service taking place at 8:00 PM in the visitation room. Following the Saturday Service, the family will receive guests at the home of Mr. Yarko Foltyn, 1810 Kristins Way, Loganville, GA. 770/466-8353. What an inspiration each of you are to me, and what a powerful legacy Tatus left us, that we have been so capable in coming together courageously as the Foltyn Family and handling Dziadzio's passing with such decorum. He touched our lives in a most amazing way, and taught me to be an eager Father and Husband.
With tremendous excitement and energy, I am looking forward to the next 40 years with each of you.

My wish is that you all remember the happy times with your father, husband and grandfather. I hope you take solice in knowing he is reunited with his loved ones and is "whole" again with our Lord.
I got to know the American part of Foltyn family thirteen years ago when they helped me make my first steps in Atlanta. Even though Mr. Zdzislaw was not in the best of health at that time, he was very vital and I will always remember him and his family as a friendly and direct people. May the great memory of their Patriarch give them and the rest of us strength for the future.
We are saddened to hear of Mr. Foltyn's death. Though we only met a few times, he helped me translate a few letters I had received from Poland. Erika and Bob Kern have always talked about their friendship with your family, and how much you all meant to them. Of course, I know Kasia for years, and Martha was in the wedding party, My love, thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time of sorrow. May God bless you.

I am so sorry, my dear friends, that you are experiencing such loss and grief. I did not know your father well, but I do know that he blessed me with his beautiful and loving daughters and for that I will be forever grateful to him. May God strengthen you in your time of need.
