Wayne L. Garner

Wayne Lamar Garner, well-loved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015. Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Garner and brother, David Garner, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Elaine D. Garner; daughters, Lori and son in law Tom Ferguson, Denise Garner and Elizabeth and son in law Tim Davis; grandsons, Marshall Ferguson, Collin Ferguson; sister in law, Linda Garner; sister, Susan and brother in law Mark Watkins; nephews, Ryan Green, David Garner, Jr and William Garner and mother, Norma Garner.Wayne was born on January 30, 1944 to Arthur and Norma Garner in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from East Atlanta High School and then attended Georgia Institute of Technology and Southern Technical College, (Southern Tech) in Atlanta, GA. He earned dual engineering degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Management engineering. Wayne was a long time employee of Ingersoll-Rand and ITT FLYGT (Xylem, Inc.)Mr. Garner enjoyed spending time during his retirement with his family and friends. He was a loving grandfather who participated in and supported his grandsons’ many activities including marching band and karate. He was always eager to share his life experiences and words of wisdom. Wayne was also known for his sense of humor.The Funeral Service to Honor the Life of Wayne Lamar Garner will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages, Snellville Chapel. Interment will follow at Snellville Historical Cemetery.
