Rolland (Rolly) Thornton, beloved father and grandfather died August 17, 2013 at home surrounded by his family at age 87. He was predeceased by wife Lilah (Skinner) Thornton of 63 years and Sister Beatrice Shockey, Brothers Howard ; Walker (Bucky) Thornton. Born to Nellie and Watson Thornton in Belleair, Ohio and a former resident of Roseville, Michigan since boyhood. He raised a family of five (5) children, daughter Donna (Larry) Dzieszko[U1], sons, Rolland James (Diane) Michael (Marianne) and Patrick (Sandy ) and daughter, Laureen Arnone, deceased. Also is survived by thirteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including his extended family members, Darlene Stover, Sharon Biggs, Rolland Laethem. Previous Owner of ROLLY SUPER MARKET located in Roseville, Michigan during 1960’s & 70’s. Resided in Lawrenceville, Georgia since 1973, Owner of North American Theatrical Photographers, INC. a subsidiary of THORNTON ENTERPRISES. Mr. Thornton’s family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. He will then be sent to the Kaul Funeral Home, Roseville, MI for a Service Honoring the Life of Mr. Thornton on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10A.M.P.M. in the Chapel of Kaul Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, New Baltimore, MI with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at Kaul’s Friday from 3:00P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
