Raymond Pierce,

Raymond C. Pierce, Sr. (Red) of Lawrenceville, GA, formerly from Homestead, FL, passed on to a reunion with his Mom, Dad, Harry, Joy, Anne, Dad & Mom-in-law, Jim and Gerry. Red leaves the love of his life for 51 years, Mary (Ginger) Shiver Pierce; children – Butch Pierce Jr., Michael Sr. & Mary Pierce, Gary Sr. & Meredith Pierce and Amy & Alex Algar; grandchildren - Michelle, Michael Jr., Raymond III & Tyler, Joe, Ben, Drew, Mandi and Kevin; great grandchildren - Kayla, Marie, Sunny, Amber and Aiden; sisters - Mary & George Dickenson and Fay Pierce of Homestead, FL and Lois McCall of Old Town, FL, several nieces and nephews. He retired from Southern Bell in 1983. He was an active member of Telcom Pioneers (Decatur Tucker Life Member Club) and was a member of Rock Springs UMC. Msgt. Pierce retired from the USAF & Air National Guard in 1993. While serving with 302 EID in Warner Robins, GA he was Team Chief of his traveling team. He was a Mason in Royal Palms Lodge #100 F&AM in Homestead, FL He earned their respect by respecting them and was much loved. Papa loved his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, America, the Flag, the military and Little Bit. Red is “On the Road Again” for his last trip. He is walking all over Heaven now. He left his mark on this earth by his gentle ways and his strengths. A Committal service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA. Msgt. (Ret) Jesse Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FODAC – Friends of Disabled Adults and Children, 4900 Lewis Road, St. Mountain, GA. 30083 or to the Little People of America, LPA Chapter 13, c/o Bo Valli, 6960 Hunters KNL, NE.
