Johnny was a wonderful next door neighbor at Rose Garden Subdivision for fifteen years. Johnny, Deven and Nichelle (Jerry) were special friends to us. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Johnny's entire family for their loss.

One of my fondest memories of Johnny occured early one morning when I was getting ready for work. I still had one eye closed when I heard a loud thump in the garage and then a sudden rush of water. When I opened the garage door, water was shooting everywhere. In a panic, I ran over to Johnny's house and knocked on the front door at 5:30 in the morning, barely able to speak a coherent sentence when I arrived. Deven answered the door and said Johnny would be right over.

When Johnny arrived he discovered that the water was not flowing from a broken overhead pipe, but from the cold water hose on the washing machine. The water pressure was so high that water was shooting up to the ceiling and then splashing down everywhere. All Johnny had to do was turn the water faucet off to stop the flow, but he got quite a chuckle out of my terrified call for help.

I know it is a funny story now, but without Johnny's cool head, I would have probably called the fire department in for help!

We are going to miss Johnny. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during their time of sorrow.

Love,
Linda Grant and family
