John David Jones

John “JJ” David Jones, 68, of Lilburn, GA passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at DeKalb Medical Center, Decatur, GA. Born in Davie County, August 31, 1944, he was the son of the late Sherrill and Dinah Mae Jones, and brother to the late Albert Jones. John was a devoted husband, father, Pa Pa, and friend to all. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Throughout his life he worked in his dad’s auto garage, Cooleemee Cotton Mill, Statesville Steel, Coca Cola in W-S, Canteen Food and Vending Services, and Robert Rogers Homes Inc. He is survived by his wife of 47 years and high school sweetheart, Julia Smith Jones; daughter, Yvonne Jones Rogers (Justin Solomon) of Ball Ground, GA; grandchildren, Amanda Rogers, Austin Conway, Ariel Rogers, and Samantha Solomon of GA; sister, Annie Mae Allgood of Yadkinville, NC; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service for John Jones will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2PM at the home of J.K. Smith, Mocksville, NC.
