James "Tony" Chase passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2013. He was born on July 17, 1964 and resided in Westminster, MD. He was the youngest of 6, and was lovingly spoiled by his old siblings and he always wanted to be wherever they were. After graduating from Westminster High in 1982,he then attended Frostburg State University of Frostburg, Maryland where he studied Foreign Language and minored in Sociology. An avid sportsman, Tony participated in the Soccer and Track and Field program where he received honors for "All American". Tony had a smile for everyone, in fact that is the one endearing trait that anyone, regardless of if they met him only once or knew him for years, will always mention; the energy that radiated through that magnetic smile and you couldn't help but smile back. Nothing could light up a room like the warmth of his huge smile or the laughter in his voice. He had a way of touching everyone’s life that he came across and was always ready to help a friend in need. He could convince you that the sky was blue when it was actually grey. This turned out to be a wonderful attribute considering that after receiving his B.A. From Frostburg State University, Tony enjoyed a successful career in sales management that spanned 23 years. The companies MCI, Primedia, W.W. Grainger, Spherion, and Fleetcor were luck enough to benefit from the leadership and loyalty that Tony brought to each of their teams, and at each of these his numerous achievements and relationships were developed as a direct result of his charisma and fierce competitiveness. As hard-working and focused as Tony was, his first priority was his family. He found no greater joy than spending time with his family and experiencing the wonders of life. Golf outings with his sons, hanging out with his baby girl, or taking a spur-of-the-moment trip with his sweetheart trumped anything else. A good science fiction movie or a Dallas Cowboys game, a cold beer, and his favorite chair were his idea of a good day. He loved a good poker game and his Fantasy Football. And make sure you made the right choices or he'd be ready with a "C'mon Man!" Tony could and did make friends with anybody, and because of that he will be missed by many. He lived every day to the fullest and made each moment count, for that we are so grateful to have known and loved such a wonderful man. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Denise Kampmann Chase, sons: Joshua Chase and Zachary Chase, daughter Taylor Chase all of Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Lewis Chase of Westminster, MD, sisters: Ernestine and Don Boyd of Walkersville, MD; Linda Chase of Westminster, MD; Sharon and Douglas Montgomery of Owensville, MD, sister in law, Connie Leubecker of Nottingham, MD, Uncle Francis Chase, Aunt Dorothy Byrd, Uncle Henry and Patricia Hodges, Aunt Carol Stanley and Aunt Joann Sparks of Newark, Delaware in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
