Ida Lois McDaniel Strickland

Ida Lois McDaniel Strickland, age 94, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Evelyn and Jack Webb of Lawrenceville, GA, son and daughter in law, Randall and Peggy Strickland of Dacula, GA. Sister, Blanche Brownlee of Lawrenceville, GA, and brother Bill McDaniel of Buford, GA, 2 granddaughters: Lynn and Chip Brand of Lawrenceville, GA; Cathy and Kurt Aldridge of Dacula, GA, 5great grandchildren: Lacey Brand, Jessica Brand, Chance Brand, Mason Aldridge and Maddie Aldridge, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Elijah “M.E.” Strickland. A native of Gwinnett County, GA, Lois was the daughter of Emmie Thomas and Ethel Freeman McDaniel. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Alcova Baptist Church. Lois was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and a friend to all who knew her. A Funeral Service to Honor the Life of Lois Strickland will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Rev. Frank Pratt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alcova Baptist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
