WILLIAMS: Harold Perry ?Cotton? Williams, age 73, of Snellville, GA died February 14, 2008. He is survived by his former wife, Charlotte J. Williams of Snellville, son, T.H. Williams and wife Nancy Williams of Madison, GA; daughter, Charlene Canady and husband Art Canady of Snellville; grandchildren, Tishia Fenn and husband Eric Fenn of Snellville, Trey H. Williams of Biloxi, MS, Brianna Canady of Snellville; great grandchildren, Elias Fenn and Graham Fenn both of Snellville. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.P. and Elizabeth Williams, of Snellville. Harold grew up in Snellville and lived there until 1993. Mr. Williams was a very successful Residential and Commercial Contractor in Gwinnett County. ?Cotton? always enjoyed fishing and after retiring he became a ?full-time fisherman?. He split his time between two homes, a lake home in Georgetown, GA and a villa on the Grand Lagoon in Panama City Beach. ?Cotton? graduated in 1953 from Snellville High School, which was the first graduating class that had gone all 12 years through the school. He served on the Gwinnett County Fair Board from 1975-1994 and was Vice President, in charge of the Miss Gwinnett Pageant, worked on the Barn Committee and personally completed several construction projects. He was a founding member of the Southern Field Trails Championships and guided the organization as president and member of the Board of Directors. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 3pm at Snellville United Methodist Church with Dr. Philip DeMore and Dr. Richard Hunter officiating. Present and former Directors of the Gwinnett County Fair and members of the Southern Field Trail Championships will serve as honorary escorts. Interment to follow at Snellville Historical Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9pm at the funeral home.
