Dear Aunt Joyce,
I was so saddened to hear of Uncle Jerry's passing. I am so glad to have reconnected to you both and experience his wit and fun through Facebook the last couple of years. I wish I had been able to see him when he was at Mom and Dad's last year. I will think of you and the family during this time and just know Uncle Jerry will never be forgotten.
Love,
Evie Koerner Burgess
My Dearest Joyce and Family,
Gerald was my friend - I miss him dearly. He was more of a brother than a friend and someone I loved deeply. I will always be grateful for Gerald in my life and for the many fun times we had together. He shared himself, his life and his family. He enriched our lives and we are better people because of it. I know that Gerald believed in our Lord and therefore I know I will see him again someday. Know that he wanted all of his family to know the Lord and trust that God can accomplish what he has promised to do and he wanted each of you to believe too so that someday you too can join him in heaven. Gerald demonstrated love better than most men I know and he was not afraid to tell us how special we were to him. I could talk about Gerald forever, but instead I think it is appropriate that I tell you he was my faithful friend and he is missed today, will be missed tomorrow, and will be missed for the rest of my life.
We praise God for blessing our lives by allowing us to know Gerald.
Our love goes out to each of our extended family as you begin a new chapter in your lives. Know that we are here for you.
