Frank Clark, age 62, of Winder, Georgia, entered into rest on Thursday, July 24, 2014 after a gallant battle to cancer. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Betsey Baggett Clark; three children, Todd Clark of Jacksonville, FL, Laura Craig (Brett) of Middle River, MD, and Jesse Clark (Amanda) of Bethlehem, GA; six grandchildren, Annabelle Clark, Ella Craig, Jackson Clark, Zachary Jones, Katelyn Jones Weaver, and Chelsea Jones Valderrama; one great grandson, Luca Valderrama; brother, Earl Clark, Jr. (Susan) of Tavares, FL; mother-in-law, Babye Oakes Baggett; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Laurie Baggett, Joe M. “Chip” Baggett, Jr., Jay Baggett (Gay) all of Lawrenceville, and Suellen Baggett of Smyrna; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Delores Savage.Frank Clark was born in New York, NY on July 22, 1952 to Marie Cassese Clark and Earl Clark, Sr. He graduated from Rova High School in Oneida, Illinois. He was playing football at Illinois Central College and being scouted to play football at Norte Dame, until he injured his knee. Frank graduated from Iowa State University with a AS Degree in Landscape Architecture. and retired from the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation after 23 years of service. Frank worked with the John Deere Company, and during his career with Gwinnett County D.O.T., he help start the transit system, designed the entrance at the Gwinnett County Airport, and Mountain Park Landscaping. Frank served as the liaison between Gwinnett County and Contractors for many road projects, including Sugarloaf Parkway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, as well as handicap accessible sidewalks throughout Gwinnett County. After retiring from Gwinnett County, Frank was self-employed with Clark’s Original Landscape, worked part-time at Lowe’s in Loganville & Buford, as well as Wal-Mart in Winder. He served on the Barrow County Board of Tax Assessors, and ran for a position on the Barrow County Board of Commissioners. He was a member of the Lawrenceville and Auburn Masonic Lodges. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family on their special vacation trips to St. Simons Island and Ellijay, GA. He cherished the cruises that he and Betsey were able to take over the last year, and reading filled his days with adventure and enjoyment. Frank will be remembered for calling Betsey his “pretty lady” and telling everyone to “come on, and give me a minute.” Frank will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.The Service Honoring the Life of Frank Clark will be Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 2:30pm at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Minister Harold Savage officiating and Masonic Rites rendered at the end of the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:30PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
