Emma “Uba” Gill, age 83, of Norcross, Georgia, born in Salinas, Puerto Rico entered into rest on Saturday, September 15, 2012 after a gallant fight to cancer. She is survived by her family and friends here in the Atlanta, Georgia area; Sandy Gill, George Gill, Jr., Norman Gill, Hector Vasquez, Marsha Westerman, Marion Beckett, Johnathan Marshall, Heather Beckett, and many family members and friends in Puerto Rico. She was preceded in death by her son John, on September 16, 2011, her parents and other relatives. Emma Gill was born on December 3, 1928 in Salinas, Puerto Rico to Justina Diaz Lopez and Inocencio Lopez. She was a high school graduate and attended college. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she will be deeply missed by all that knew this wonderful lady. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 2140 Beaver Ruin Rd., Norcross, GA 30071 (770-448-2028) with Parochial Vicar Fr. Cyril Soo Gil Chae serving as the Celebrant. Mrs. Gill will be sent to the Funeraria de Pedro, Calla Duques No. 7 Norte, Esquina Enrique Gonzalez, Guayama, Puerto Rico 00784 (787) 864-2080 for visitation and services. Interment will be on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Cementerio Municipal, Guayama, Puerto Rico. The family, here in Georgia, will receive friends on Monday at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Pkwy., Ste. 260, Duluth, GA 30097 USA in memory of Emma Gill. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com. Tom M.
