GIBSON – Edward LeClaire Gibson, age 57, of Lilburn, GA, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, after his long battle with cancer. He was the “best husband in the whole wild world” for 35 years to Laura Weathers Gibson; the loving father and father-in-law to Jennifer and Josh Hampton of Richmond Hill, GA; Elizabeth and Jason Dalton of Clinton, MS; and a son, Andrew Gibson of Atlanta, GA; loving grandfather of five grandchildren, Ashley Hampton, Camryn Hampton, Alex Dalton, Lauren Dalton and Olivia Dalton; and brother to Michael Gibson of Alamo, CA; other relatives and many devoted friends.   Ed Gibson was born on December 15, 1953 in Ft. Atkinson, WI to Annabelle Marget Fuhrman Gibson and Ronald Gerald Gibson. He graduated from Boca Raton High School, and obtained his Master’s from the University of Florida. He graduated from USAF Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, TX and was a veteran of the United States Air Force for 8 ½ years. He was a Captain for Delta Air Lines for 25 years, and in recent years, he dedicated much of his time to singing in the choir and teaching youth group at Church of the Redeemer Presbyterian in Snellville, GA. Ed will be missed by his loving family and many friends.   A Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Ed Gibson will be held Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 3:00 P.M. at Church of the Redeemer Presbyterian, 3750 Zoar Church Rd., Snellville, GA 30039 (770-979-2467) with Pastor John Byerly officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
