LAMB – Doris Cross Lamb, age 88, of Cedartown, GA formerly of Lawrenceville, GA entered into rest on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome, GA.  She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Janet & Charles Fortune of Cedartown, GA; son & daughter-in-law, David & Dianne Lamb of Valrico, FL; four grandchildren, Charles Fortune, Jr., Connie Fortune, Sheri  & Kevin Bollett, Mitchell Lamb; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Jade Bollett; brother, H.M. & Mildred Cross of Bainbridge, GA; two sisters, Nancy Ingram, Rachel & Clyde Dacus all of Cumming, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death in 1978 by her husband of 37 years, Clayton Lamb; parents, Otis & Ruth Cross; six siblings, Billy Cross, Buck Cross, Harold Cross, Margaret Cole, Beth Schultz, and Nina Pressley. Mrs. Lamb was born in Cumming, GA to Mary Ruth Jones Cross and Jewel Otis Cross.  She graduated from the old Chestatee High School and was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Cumming. Mrs. Lamb worked for many years as the Manager of old the Cato’s Ladies Store on the historic Lawrenceville courthouse square.  Mrs. Lamb later worked at Wal-Mart  and eventually retired at the age of 80.  She enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers, and spending time with her family.  She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew this gentle, kind lady. The Service Celebrating the Life of Doris Cross Lamb will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel.  Interment Gwinnett Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com.  Tom M.
