Clarence Nathan Hillis of Hoschton, GA, age 89, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011. He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Hillis, Al Hillis, and Carlton Hillis. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rena Hillis of Hoschton, GA; daughter, Beverly Hillis and her husband Michael J. Richards of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Billie Kitts of Monroe, GA; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Gilmer and his wife Judy of Aiken, S.C. and Manly Gilmer and his wife Lura of Woodstock, GA; daughters-in-law, Lois Simpson Hillis of Alabama, Carol Wade Hillis of Athens, GA; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Hillis retired from Bell South after 40 years of service, and retired from Cofer Adams after 15 plus years of service. He was also a member of the Tucker Masonic Order, Chapter 42 for 50 plus years. The Service to Celebrate the Life of Clarence Nathan Hillis will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 2:30 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Roger Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Clarence is the kindest man I have ever known. He is a dear friend for near 30yrs and I will miss him. The only consolation is he will have a grand reunion with Carlton, Al, and Robert. I wish I could be there to see the love and laughter.
