Christine Williams Drake, age 93, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. She is survived by her son, Stanly Drake of Joplin Missouri; son-in-law, James Briscoe of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter-in-law, Sue Drake of Arkansas; six grandchildren, Jack & Nicole Briscoe; Michelle & David McMillan, Chris & Angela Drake, Mike Drake, Stanly Owen Drake and Issac Drake; three great grandchildren, Tessa McMillan, Caitlin McMillan, and Hayden McMillan; other relatives and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her parents, O.C. Williams and Parrie Lee Caswell Williams; husband, Clarence Drake; daughter, Cay Briscoe, and a son, Steven Drake. Mrs. Drake was born on January 20, 1919, in Carroll County, Georgia. She was a 1939 graduate of Tyus High School and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and attended Bakers and Cooks School, 2nd WAAC Training Center in Daytona Beach, FL. Her profession career was as a Retail Sales Clerk and finished working with Eckerd’s Drug Store in 1990 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed painting and went to Photography School on the GI Bill. She cherished the company of her family over the years and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew this wonderful lady. The Service Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Drake will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Jeff Gongwer officiating and Military Honors rendered . A Graveside service will be held at 4:00 P.M. after the Chapel service at the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, 1539 Bethesda Church Rd., Carrollton, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
