In her retirement years, she traveled extensively, including trips to Costa Rica where her daughter Nancy and family served in the mission field. She loved gardening, cooking, quilting, and sharing memories and humorous stories with her family, friends, and caregivers. She was an inspiration and offered encouragement to the many people who crossed her path, and quickly developed loving relationships in every situation and interface that she encountered.
