Wanna Philpot, 79, long time resident of the Mountain Park area of Stone Mountain passed away on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022. She was a beloved wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elrow and Ruth Hobson; in-laws, Earl and Edna Philpot. She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Edward Philpot; son and daughter-in-law, Edd and Laura Philpot; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lori Philpot, and son, Brad Philpot; she leaves three grandchildren, Hunter, Megan and Amanda.Wanna enjoyed her family, meeting with friends, her church - Mountain Park UMC, genealogy, and traveling. She retired from Georgia Power’s Charitable Giving group where she coordinated finances for the “Citizens of Georgia Power”, administered the Company’s family house (for employees and others with family at local hospitals), and coordinated events.The funeral service to celebrate the life of Wanna Hobson Philpot will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Park United Methodist Church, Stone Mountain, GA. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery, Cedartown, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. For those who desire to make memorial donation in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Mt. Wanna was a very special person and dear friend. She was incredibly supportive of me and helped me tremendously in my career at Georgia Power. She loved her family and was a great role model for me. Her energy was never ending and she was always smiling. My heart goes out to Ed and her children and grandchildren whom I know will miss her. I cherish the memories I have of this wonderful friend.
