Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Jessie Gerald Conner, on August 4, 2016. She is survived by two daughters, Rev. Cindy Conner & Jill and son-in-law, Dan Rankin; two grandsons, Jessie and Wesley Rankin; sister, Sara Hall Wages; brother & sister-in-law, Bill and Neelia Hall; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Mrs. Conner was also preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Sadie Brooks Hall; and sister, Elizabeth Hall Lovin (Edwin). Born March 1, 1941 in Georgia, Shirley grew up in the Harbins Community where her mother taught school in the two-room facility that is now known as the Harbins Community House. Shirley attended Dacula High School, married her high school sweetheart, and they established a home and built a family together. It was always a place of love and laughter. She worked her early years in clothing manufacturing, became a stay-at-home mom, and then became a food service employee for Gwinnett County Public Schools. Her most recent employment was as an administrative assistant at American International Group Insurance. Shirley was a Georgia Bulldog fan and was so proud of her grandsons, Jessie and Wesley. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her light will continue to shine through the family to which she was so devoted. She will be sorely missed. Due to COVID-19 regulations and increase in the different variants, our staff is committed to taking care of the guest and family members for Mrs. Conner. We are still asking all guests and family members attending the visitation and service at the funeral home to please continue social distancing and to bring & wear a mask. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. The Service to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Shirley Hall Conner will be held after the visitation on Friday at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at the funeral home with her daughter, Rev. Cindy Conner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarkdale United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 3, Clarkdale, GA 30111 in memory of Shirley Hall Conner.
