Mr. Robert Keith Williamson, 89, husband of, Joyce Ann Lewis Williamson, of Grayson, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on July 16, 2020. He was predeceased by his sisters, June Williamson Smiley and Mabel Lee Williamson Jones; his twin brother, Roger Heath Williamson; and nephew, Richard Dale Smiley. Surviving in addition to his wife, are three sons, Daniel Lewis Williamson and wife Jen of Victoria, TX, Michael Keith Williamson and wife Teresa of Snellville, GA, and Joel Aaron Williamson and wife Jennifer of Alpharetta, GA; eight grandchildren, Mitchell Williamson and wife Samantha of Greenville, SC, Eric Williamson of Victoria, TX, Amanda (Williamson) Brady and husband Spencer of Chapel Hill, NC, Jessica Williamson of Atlanta, GA, Robert and Elizabeth Williamson of Alpharetta, GA, and Colin and Parker Scott of Alpharetta, GA; three great grandchildren, Liam Williamson, Bea Brady, and Sebastian Brady; as well as a nephew, James Robert Smiley; and nieces, Mary Ethel Smiley, Debbie Jones Dyer & Linda Jones Mazer.Mr. Williamson was born in Seaman, Ohio on December 6, 1930, a son of the late Harry and Lela Williamson. He served 31 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant in 1981, proudly representing our country in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Following retirement, he worked as a pharmacy superintendent in two different pharmacies on the Space Coast of Florida. After moving to Georgia in 1993, he volunteered in Eastside Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years.Mr. Williamson was a member of First Baptist Church Snellville where he served as a Bus Ministry Driver as well as a faithful member of the Joy Life Group. Attending the Wednesday night Sportsman Ministry and driving the Providence Academy field trip bus for several years brought him great joy. He also found enjoyment in John Deere Tractors, Andy Griffith, Tuesday morning Bojangles breakfasts with his men’s group, and cheering on his teams, the South Gwinnett Comets, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.Robert and Joyce Williamson were happily married for over 65 years. Robert Keith Williamson leaves a legacy of love for his wife, along with immense pride for his sons and their families.With respect for the health and well-being of our friends, neighbors, and loved ones, the Celebration of Life service for Robert K. Williamson “Bob” will be a small, private family-only service at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home. This is a difficult decision as Bob was a people person who would have wanted all to be able to gather and honor his life together.Bob’s interment service will be conducted with full military honors at a later date and time set by the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. We will provide more details regarding this service as the Covid-19 situation allows.Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, those who desire to pay their condolences will have an opportunity to attend a “drive thru” visitation at First Baptist Church Snellville’s South Commons Entrance at 2400 Main Street East, Snellville, GA 30078. The “drive-thru” visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude by 1:00 PM on Friday, July 31st. We ask that you please remain in your car and wear a mask while greeting the family.
