Click to view Livestream Robert “Bob” Gustav Felkel, 75, of Lawrenceville, GA, peacefully passed away on February 1st, 2021 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with COVID-19. Bob was born on October 5th, 1945 to Kate and Fred Felkel, in the city of Stinstedt, Germany. In 1961, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America. Bob then pursued a degree at Voorhees Technical Institute learning the tool and die trade. Shortly after completing his education, he enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1968 and was stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona until October of 1972. He began his career in the security business in 1973 and prospered throughout his life opening his company, GTI of GA, in 2001. In 1974, he met Beth Cook and they got married in 1975. Bob and Beth went on to have three kids, Chad Robert, Ann Marie, and Ryan Scott. Chad and Ann Marie provided Bob the joy of eight grandkids that he cherished. Bob had a passion for people and a zest for life like few others. The smile on his face was permanent and his laugh was infectious. He enjoyed entertaining and you could always find people gathered around the kitchen island, listening to his colorful stories and drinking his sangria, or other crafted cocktail while waiting for whatever he was grilling to finish up. He had fun shopping for the latest kitchen gadgets and was a local favorite at many of the restaurants around town. After his children grew, Bob found a love of showing his Bearded Collies in AKC dog shows where he had great success. But by far, Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, where he was belovedly known as Papa to his grandkids. Bob is survived by his wife; children; sister, Eva Leaich; and his aunt, Helga Schwedhelm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel.
