Robert "Bob" Alan Kauffman

Robert Alan “Bob” Kauffman, age 69, of Lilburn, Georgia, formerly of Scarsdale, NY, passed away peacefully the evening of July 25, 2015. Born in Brooklyn to the late LeRoy and Anne Kauffman of Scarsdale, he was predeceased by brother, Kenneth, and grandson, Conor McGuire. Often described as “larger than life”, Bob was a three-time NBA All-Star, playing for Seattle, Chicago, Buffalo, and Atlanta. He served as assistant GM for the Hawks, then GM and coach for the Detroit Pistons. He was equally well-known for his kind deeds and love for family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Kauffman, daughters Lara Kauffman (Matt Collins); Carey Kauffman (Todd McGuire); Joannah Mackenny (Matt); Kate Wright (Josh), and ten grandchildren, all of metro-Atlanta. Visitation is Friday, July 31 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home in Snellville, GA. The Celebration of Life service will be 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 1 at Calvary Chapel in Lilburn, GA.
