Richard Owen Tatum Obituary Richard Owen Tatum, age 87, born in Selma, Alabama on December 18, 1934 and died March 27, 2022 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Darla, son, Bernard Tatum, son, Eric Tatum (spouse Jennifer) and daughter, Janelle Tatum, and grandchildren, Kate Tsoleas and Jake Tatum. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and O.B. Tatum. He received a B.A. degree from Auburn University and a M.A. degree from the University of Alabama. Richard served in leadership roles in multiple Episcopal churches and the Boy Scouts of America. He was a 66-year member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Alabama. He had a 30-year career in public education as a teacher and school administrator. He will be remembered and honored by the many lives he touched. The memorial service will be held at St. Joseph’s-on-the-Mountain Episcopal Church, 21145 Scenic Highway, Mentone, AL 35984 at 2:00 PM CT April 2, 2022.
