Richard Dale Bennett

April 5, 1943 - December 19, 2020

Click to livestream Richard Dale Bennett was born on April 5, 1943 in Ventura, California to Richard and Edith Bennett. He was their first child of three boys. His youngest brother, David Bennett, preceded him in death and he is survived by his brother, Ronald Bennett. His family relocated to Arizona and eventually settled in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School and then attended North Texas State University for one year. He then married Carolyn Kay Bennett, on November 23, 1961, and they had two children. Susan Lynne was born in 1962 and Richard Jeffrey was born in 1966. The Bennett family moved from Dallas, Texas to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1967. They lived in Charlotte briefly and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1969, where their children attended school and married. Susan married Eric Haglund, in 1992. They have two children, Sydney and Emily. They currently reside in Georgia. Jeff married Brittany Haynes, in 1999. They have eight children: Rachel, Karissa, Joshua, Benjamin, Jonah, Lily, Josiah, and Nathaniel. They currently reside in Mississippi. Richard Bennett was a leader, giving, and tender hearted. His counsel and leadership were coveted. He was instrumental in the development and success’ of many business and community programs. He did not seek his own promotion, but loved to help others succeed. He loved his family and was an extravagant giver. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. John 15: 12-14. Richard Dale Bennett passed on December 19, 2020. He leaves behind his children and grandchildren, and many many friends. Much prayer and intercession have preceded his passing. Our faith and prayers are that he is beholding his Lord and Savior Jesus. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed , but shall speak with their enemies in the gate. Psalm 127: 3-5 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs 13: 22 The funeral service to celebrate the life of Richard Dale Bennett will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel.
