Please select this link to livestreamn the services for Pastor Bob Bailey Pastor Robert Milton Bailey age 82, of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Edith Bailey; two brothers and a sister, Marvin, Bud, and Carolyn; and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Elizabeth/Liz; children, Connie and Robert (Deandra); 5 grandchildren, Chad(Mandy), Chelsea (Kirk), Paul (Lindy), Mark (Hannah), John (Marisa); and 5 great-grandchildren, Caleigh, Lydia, Chandler, Tali and Baby Bailey due in the spring, along with a host of other family including cherished nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Decatur, Georgia, and graduated Avondale High School in 1956. He began his career as an automobile mechanic with Ford Motor Company and diligently worked until he purchased Decatur Union 76 Service Station which he held for approximately fifteen years. Ever the entrepreneur, he became an Enrolled Agent and purchased an EKW Accounting franchise (EKW Atlanta). Over the years, he also invested in various other businesses, joined and was active in local Civitan and Rotary Clubs, then retired from tax accounting when he sold his EKW Atlanta franchise. A passionate follower of Jesus, he faithfully led his family in service to the Lord, and was a church leader at Decatur Heights Baptist Church (Decatur) serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher; at Metro Heights Baptist Church (Stockbridge) and at Annistown Road Baptist Church (Snellville) serving on both staffs as Pastoral Care Pastor. He also served as a chaplain at Stone Mountain Ministries for 16 years, preaching campground services and visiting with campers from all over the world. He taught, modeled and encouraged us in love, generosity, and wisdom, “Love God, and love people”. His favorite phrase to say to family was “Proud to call you Bailey!” – he made us proud to be a Bailey. The Memorial Service to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Pastor Bob Bailey will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Tom. M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Pastor Rob Bailey and Pastor Joe Lewis will officiate the services.
