Nedgel Oletha Springer, 96, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on July 4, 2021. Oletha was born on February 2, 1925 to parents, Walter and Lorena Barbour in Greensboro, NC.Oletha worked the switch board as a young woman at the Greensboro Training Center (Greensboro Overseas Replacement Depot, United States Army Air Force installation), where she met her husband, Marvin. He was a soldier and was smitten with her at first sight. They wed September 10, 1943. She was CFO of Liquid Handling Specialist, INC., the company her late husband started in 1970.Oletha dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her life. They way in which she lived her life she automatically improved the lives of others. Oletha was a passionate self-taught painter and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her art studio painting beautiful oil and watercolor masterpieces. She was an exceptional host and loved to entertain for her family and friends. She will always be known for her fantastic Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. We will miss her greatly.Oletha was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lorena Barbour; her husband, Marvin Springer; her brothers, James Barbour, Walter Barbour and Charles Barbour; and her sister, Marian Barbour Self. She is survived by her children, Sharon Harmon of Kingsport, TN, Marsha Jordan of Madison, GA, and Mike Springer of Oxford, GA; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Hwy., Snellville, GA 30039.
