Norma Rose Schrichte Shearer passed away on December 18, 2020. Born in Covington, Kentucky on September 11, 1924, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle W. Shearer. She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and of Indiana University at South Bend. She and her husband lived in South Bend for thirty-two years, where she was a teacher and a real estate broker. After they retired to Savannah, Georgia in 1990, she became an active volunteer in her parish church, St. James, and in numerous community activities. She moved to Park Springs CCRC, in November 2004, and enjoyed teaching line dancing and sharing other activities with her friends there. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory F. and Martha N. Shearer; by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly S. and Christopher R. Palmer; by grandsons, Paul Shearer (Lisa Nelson) and Kyle Shearer (Emily Reid), Andrew Palmer (Anna Mackin) and Michael Palmer; and by great-granddaughter, Eva Rose Shearer. A memorial mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 535 Rucker Road, Alpharetta, Georgia, 30004 on December 29 at 9:00 am, followed by interment at 11:30 am with her husband at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen the Martyr RC Church, 5373 Wydella Rd, Lilburn, GA 30047.
