Morris F. Williams, age 81, of Dunwoody, Georgia, met his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Morris is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Anne Hawthorne Williams; son & daughter-in-law, Roy Williams, and his wife Jennifer; grandson, Hayden Williams all of Johns Creek, GA. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Floyd Williams, and Mildred Weatherly Williams; as well as his sister, Beverly Ann Manders. He was born on September 28, 1942, in Zebulon, Georgia. His mother passed when he was at a very young age after which he, along with his sister, were raised in the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in Palmetto, GA. Morris constantly overcame adversity in his life. He battled numerous health issues most notably congenital eye disease. He met these challenges with courage and an unwavering positive attitude. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life but his favorite pastimes were golf, bridge and pulling for his beloved Atlanta Braves. He instilled a love of golf in his son at a young age and that has been passed along to his grandson. Hayden’s growing love for golf has given him great pride and joy. He played competitive duplicate bridge across the country and achieved Life Master status. Morris was a loyal employee of Sunbrand, a textile company, where he operated a mainframe computer system for 25 years. He was a member of First Baptist Atlanta where he loved watching Anne sing in the choir. The Service to Honor and Celebrate the life of Morris F. Williams will be held on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Duane Manders, nephew, officiating and Roy Williams, son, recalling a life well lived. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21st, starting at Noontime until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
