Mack A. Chew, Sr., 78, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Moon Ben Chew and Helen Wong Chew on February 3, 1944. He served as an Officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970. During his combat time, he was awarded the Air Medal for meritorious achievement while participating in more than twenty-five aerial missions over hostile territory in support of counterinsurgency operations. He served as a Shrine Mason and was a member of the Yaarab Shriners Chapter in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a proud and generous father and grandfather, survived by his son, Mack A. Chew, Jr. (Samantha), and daughter, Ashley Ball (Jason); loving companion, Marsha Tinsley; grandchildren, Josephine Chew, Austin Chew, Conrad Tinsley, and Opal Tinsley. He is also survived by his sisters, Christine Lem (Stanley) and Shirley Rha; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A private memorial service will be held near Boston, Massachusetts, as he is laid to rest next to his mother and father.
