Keith Orville Johnson

Keith Orville Johnson age 79 of Lawrenceville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar M. Johnson and Thelma P. Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Janice Johnson; son, Keith (Pamela) Kirby of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Adam (Emily) Kirby and Travis Kirby all of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Lovette (Lanell) Johnson of Lakeland, FL; sister, Joyce J. Griffen of Bartow, FL; longtime friend, Maynard Garth Smith, II (Buddy) Philippine Islands.Keith was a native of Mulberry, FL, and lived most of his life in Atlanta, GA. He attended the University of Florida and graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He proudly served in The United States Air Force with most of his time served in Europe. Keith retired from the Department of Labor serving as the Deputy Director of EDP for 35 years. He was a member of Stone Mountain Masonic Lodge # 449, was a 32 ° member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Atlanta, Elks Lodge of Northlake #78 and a Life member of the American Legion Hall of Duluth. Following his retirement he enjoyed traveling to Australia, Asia, Europe and had a special fondness for the Philippine Islands. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.The Celebration of Life for Keith Orville Johnson will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. A reception will immediately follow the service. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3:00 PM.
