Julie L. Hardy

Julie Ann Hardy passed away on March 9, 2024 at the age of 77. Julie was born to Robert and Ella Leaphart on May 22, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her final days were spent peacefully in her home surrounded by family and close friends.Julie was a cherished member of the Leaphart family, eldest sister to Jim (Barbara), Jerry (Myrna), Jenny (Tim) and the late John and Janet. In 1977 she married the love of her life Herbert “Lamar” Hardy and they began a life together filled with love and devotion. Julie’s love extended to her five children , Christie (Jerry) Moore, Tony (Linda) Leaphart, Suzie (Scott) Shepherd, Katie (Jevon) Allen, and the late Dennis “Dinky” (Katie) Franklin and her two stepsons Lamar (Teresa) Hardy and Chris (Kathi) Hardy. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren Angela, Monique, Nicholas, Mathew, Mitchell, Victoria, Lexie, Lily, Josie, Grant, Mason, Malachi, Jordyn, J.T., Tabitha, Helena, Brayden, Kennedy, and Callahan will carry her legacy of kindness and joy. Predeceased by her parents, her brother John, sister Janet, and son Dennis,Julie's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her husband Lamar, her children, grandchildren, siblings, and a host of other family members and friends that was better for her presence. Julie’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel in Snellville, Georgia. Interment will be held following the service at 2:00 PM at College Park Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please consider a memorial donation to The Susan G.
