Julia “Julie” Anderson HosfordJulia “Julie” Anderson Hosford died peacefully on January 11 at her home in Lawrenceville at age 97. Born on August 26, 1921 to Vassie Keith and Herman Anderson in Cleveland, Georgia, Julie grew up in Atlanta with her sister Martha and grandmother Josie Keith, uncle Harrison Keith and aunt Laurene Keith.While a senior at Atlanta Girls High she won a full college scholarship with a first place award in a playwriting contest. After marriage and children she was a Stay At Home Mom. She later attended the Atlanta College of Art and exhibited in galleries, juried shows and gave private art lessons. She was a Kindergarten Director and Preschool Teacher, also teaching special education. Julie was an accomplished artist, author, church Elder, volunteer and a fervent supporter of the arts. She enjoyed frequent activities with her family and friends and had developed many lifelong friendships from all areas of her life.Her husband of 75 years, William “Bill” Duncan Hosford Sr. and her sister, Martha Williams, preceded Julie in death. She is survived by her children Bill Hosford, Jr. and wife Deborah; Dr. Jeffrey Hosford; Betsey Hosford; granddaughter Micah and husband Josh, and grandsons Eric, Kyle and Danny.Visitation will be Friday January 18th from 3pm-8pm at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel, followed by a funeral service on Saturday January 19th at 11am at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church and interment Monday January 21st at 11:00 AM at Arlington Cemetery Sandy Springs.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church building fund.
