Joyce Watson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joycelyn Hanvey Watson, age 76, peacefully passed into the arms of her Savior on Monday, November 22, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Kitty Hanvey; and son, Christopher J. Brown. Joycelyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Danny Watson; brother, Jimmy Hanvey (Maggie); sisters, Joan Hanvey Young (Terry) and Judith Hanvey Craig; sisters in law, Beverly Watson Trott (Ray) and Brenda Watson; god daughter, Deanna Price; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and extended family and friends. Born in Elberton, GA., Joycelyn resided in North Carolina before returning to her beloved Georgia. She was truly one of the best cooks in Georgia. Joycelyn loved to share meals with neighbors, family and friends. After her retirement from Nation Air Aviation, Joycelyn focused on serving and teaching her Church family at Cannon Methodist Church. She also enjoyed cultivating her gardening skills, traveling, spoiling Bailey, and passionately cheering on her Goddaughter Deanna and the Atlanta Braves. Above all Joycelyn was an amazing mother to Chris and wife to Danny. She never met a stranger and always made everyone feel welcome. She loved fiercely and deeply. We will miss her more than words could say. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in her Heavenly Home. The service to celebrate the life of Joycelyn Hanvey Watson will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
