Please select this link to view the service for Josephine Pittman Josephine H. Pittman, 94, of Snellville, Georgia was called home to Jesus Monday, October 25, 2021. Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Jo was born on October 24th, 1927 in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from West Hampton College with an education degree and taught school for most of her life until retirement. It was love at first sight for Bob and Jo when they met at Virginia Beach and they loved each other through 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2006. Together they raised 4 daughters in a Christian home filled with love. Bob and Jo were faithful, active members of Embry Hills United Methodist Church for 40 years together and then she for another 16 years after his passing. They traveled all over the world and made friends wherever they went. Both have been devoted to friends and family, never hesitating to help someone in need. Jo loved her church and serving. She served in the UMW, Sunday School, Choir, ESL program, and almost every outreach program at the church including Samaritan’s Purse, Prayer Squares, Foster Children Program, and the Atlanta Soup Kitchen. She was also in a number of Bible Studies including Bible Study Fellowship. Helping others was her passion and she felt blessed to be able to do so much of what she loved. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Pittman. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Michael Donald, Anne and Brian Lancaster, Vicki and Tom Ladshaw, and Janice and David Hamel; along with her 6 grandchildren and spouses, David and Kelly Donald, Christy and Darren Adams, Allison and Brycen Freeman, Austin Ladshaw, Jessi and Chris Kraus, Kelsey Hamel and Danielle Treadaway; and 7 great grandchildren, Kaleigh and Brianna Riggs, Bryce Adams, Ella Jo Freeman, Gage and Brodie Kraus, and Brannon Johnson; her brother, George Hoover, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family mourns her loss but invites you to celebrate her life Saturday, November 6th; visitation from 11:30-1pm with a service at 1pm at Embry Hills United Methodist Church. The service will be performed by Reverend Elaine Puckett. A private entombment will be at Peachtree Memorial Park, Norcross, GA. If you so desire, flowers can be sent to Tom Wages Funeral Home in Snellville, GA or donations made in her memory to St. Jude.
