John Shiver

John Staunton Shiver, 35 of Snellville, Georgia, passed from this life on February 18th, 2022. John is preceded in death by his brother, Conner Shiver. He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Cecilia Limas Shiver; his four-legged companions, Lulu and Finley; brother and wife, Caleb and Lydia Shiver; brother, Ross Shiver; brother and sisters in law, Juan Limas Chavez, Jose Felix Limas Chavez, Laura Limas Chavez, Josue Limas Chavez, Isabel Gorawala, David Limas, Cristina Limas, and Daniel Limas. John was born in Douglasville, Georgia on January 10th, 1987, to Mary and Joel Shiver. He married his sweetheart, Cecilia Limas Shiver, daughter of Rodrigo Limas Villa and Maria del Carmen Chavez de Limas, born on June 6th, 1985 in Jalisco, Mexico. The couple shared two four-legged companions, Lulu and Finley. John took great pride in his service as a registered nurse and paramedic. In his spare time he loved to be outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, and gardening and buying power tools. John always had a kind word to share and a boisterous laugh that could brighten even the darkest of days. John lived life to the fullest surrounded by those closest to him. He has a big heart and loved everyone greatly. He was the best of us. A Celebration of Life ceremony, in memory of John Shiver will be held at Van Pugh Park North on Lake Lanier at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 3, 2022. The address is 6838 Gaines Ferry Road. Casual dress. Pastor Jason Mincey will officiate. Friends and family are encouraged to speak and share memories of John at the service. A lunch reception will follow at Prospect United Methodist Church, 1549 Prospect Road Lawrenceville Georgia. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made on behalf of John’s wife, Cecy Shiver, to aid with her living expenses as she completes her degree this semester.
