John Dale Parry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

To view the service via livestream please click here John Dale Parry age 73 of Decatur, GA., passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents, John C. Parry and Tilda W. Parry. Dale is survived by his wife, Paulette; daughter, Contressa (Todd) Adamson; son, Nathan (Melissa)Parry; sister, Donna (Randy) Curles; sisters- in-law, Debra (George) Morrow and Ethel (Ken) Rukenbrod; brothers-in-law, Eddie Densmore, James Densmore, Jeff Densmore, and Jerome Densmore; (2) grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale graduated from Tucker High School in 1966. He attended the University of Georgia where he played the trumpet in the Army R.O.T.C. band. After completing 3 years at UGA, Dale enlisted in US Army serving 2 tours in Vietnam. He is a decorated veteran receiving the National Defense Metal, Bronze Star w/Oak Cluster, Vietnam Service Metal w/Bronze Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Metal. He was proud to be a US Soldier defending his country and family. As a child, he developed a love of Buffalo nickels creating a lifelong passion of coin collecting. Upon his return from Vietnam, he worked for Wells Fargo Corporation. Dale retired from Simpkins Corporation where he worked for 20+ years as a company estimator. In retirement, Dale enjoyed spending time walking his dogs and watching old westerns. He loved his family very much and enjoyed eating out especially Mexican food. Dale loved everything army related including wearing anything army camouflage. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The funeral service celebrate the life of John Dale Parry will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 prior to the service from 10:00 AM until the time of service 11:00 AM.
