Jana S. Overstreet Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Jana Overstreet, age 70 of Smyrna, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31st. Jana is survived by her husband, Jim Overstreet; her brother, Fred Shope Jr.; sisters, Sherry Johnson and Penny Wiley; two sons, Harmon Caldwell III and Derek Overstreet; and daughter, Anne Marie Murphy. Jana was born on July 4th, 1951 in Atlanta, GA and was the daughter of Alice Sue Martin Shope and Fred Monroe Shope, Sr. She loved her parents and family more than anything and was truly a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother in every conceivable way. She was a proud grandmother and loved her precious grandchildren beyond words. With her birthday being on July 4th that day truly was a celebration in more ways than one as it was always marked with a big family gathering and an amazing meal. That occasion, along with innumerable beach trips and other special family times are certainly what Jana held dearest and cherished the most. Her warm presence and loving heart will be sorely missed. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Jana Overstreet will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM. At Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, Ga. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 AM until the time of service 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
