James Guthrie Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James “Jim” Richard Guthrie, age 64, of Lilburn, GA stepped into eternal life in Paradise on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by daughter, Amie Marie Guthrie; father, Richard W. Guthrie; mother, Beverly J. Martin; and step-mother, Nancy C. Guthrie. Jim is survived by his wife, Becki; son, Alex Guthrie; daughter and son-in-love, Anna and Jonn Bartine; sisters, Jennifer (Jason) Kimmell and Susan Guthrie; brothers, Allan Guthrie and David Guthrie; brothers and sisters-in-love; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives. Jim grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a graduate of Indiana University. He was a passionate fan of the Indiana Hoosiers. Jim and his wife of 38 years, Becki, moved to Georgia in 1996 where they raised their family. He made his career in telecommunications for the past 37 years. Jim was a man of faith who loved Jesus. He was a faithful leader of his family, adored and respected by his children and deeply cherished by his wife. Jim always put others before himself, finding countless ways to serve those around him, embodying Philippians 2:3. He impacted so many with his kindness, his generosity, and his humility. He loved to laugh, was known for his witty sense of humor, found joy in everything, and was full of life. Now, we know Jim is more alive than ever, reunited forever with his daughter Amie and in the presence of his Savior. The service to celebrate the life of James Richard Guthrie will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
