Helen L. Traylor age 101 of Snellville, GA., passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022. She is survived by sons, Jim Traylor and wife Rebecca, Steve Traylor and wife Patty, Alan Traylor and wife Cheryl; granddaughters, Krista Britt and husband Chris, Tracy Traylor, Rachel Davis and husband Michael; grandsons, Brian Traylor and wife Dawn, Mark Traylor and wife Christy, Eric Traylor and wife Kelsey, Steven Traylor and wife Taylor; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and sisters, Martha Hannington and Ellen Edwards.After marrying J.B. Traylor in 1943 they moved to the Atlanta area and in 1948 started their family. They lived in the Decatur area until 1980 when they moved to Snellville, Ga. Her time was split between raising her 3 sons and doing volunteer work for various community service organizations in Dekalb and Gwinnett Counties. She also started up a group of volunteers in her church, First Baptist Snellville, to complete many tasks that would have been done by paid staff or outsourced. She displayed her gift of hospitality by frequently preparing food for those who had a need and sharing the results of her incredible green thumb with anyone who was interested.The funeral service to celebrate the life of Helen L. Traylor will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. The family will have a private burial at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2022 prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
