Helen Maxine Goins

Helen Maxine Goins (nee: Garbett) passed away peacefully on the morning of March 25, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born on July 12, 1937. She was predeceased by both parents, Frank C. Garbett and Vera Allenia Garbett; sister, Charlotte Searcy; brother, F. Carlo Garbett; and husband, W.W. (Bill) Goins, Sr. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, W. Wesley Goins, Jr., daughter-in-law, Shirley Goins; grandson, Will Goins and wife Mandy Goins; great grandchildren, Finley, Emery and Landry Goins; sister, Betty Frank Noble; as well as many nieces and nephews.Helen “Maxine” Garbett Goins was known for always putting others before herself. She was known as “Mama” to Wesley, “Aunt Maxine” to some, and “Mimi” to others in the family. She never hesitated to selflessly help anyone, happily giving all of her time, love, energy and strength.Maxine was ever faithful at Bill’s side during his time as a pastor, chaplain and counselor; always standing as his rock. She loved the Lord and relied on his strength and teachings to guide her daily life. Many fond memories were made with her beloved family, whom she doted on often. Moments spent laughing at her stories, talking about sports and current events, traveling and hearing accounts of her life growing up in Ozell. She will be missed.The funeral service to celebrate the life of Helen Maxine Goins will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages, Snellville, Ga. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M.
