She was a strong believer and is now in the Lord’s Heavenly presence where her vibrant personality and sense of humor will forever shine. A native of Decatur, Georgia, Harriett has been a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church since 1986. Harriett is survived by her four children, Ted Williams (Janice), Alan Williams, Louis Williams (Pam), and Susan Williams; seven grandchildren, Brittany Clark, David Dees, Lauren Williams, Danielle Hill, Jason Dees, Carolyn Haydel and Jayne Simmons; she was also blessed with nine great grandchildren, Myla and Lydia Hill, Savannah and Cohen Haydel, Wyatt and Walker Dees, Everett and Campbell Simmons and Wilder Clark. Harriett was a proud alumnus of Decatur Girls High School Class of 1944. While raising a family, she was active in the Clairmont Heights Garden Club. Her creative flower arrangements and Christmas door decorations garnered several first place awards. More recently Harriett worked as Office Manager for two manufacturers in the Auto Racing industry, Reed Cams and Carrera Shocks. During her twenty years with Carrera, Harriett received commendations for her dedication to customers. Many key accounts insisted on placing their orders through Harriett as her attention to detail was second to none. She retired at age 78 and loved to reminisce about her career including participation in numerous trade shows and racing events where she met some well-known NASCAR drivers. Harriett was passionate about cooking and was a wonderful hostess, particularly at large family gatherings where she displayed her legendary culinary skills. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Harriett W. Williams will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. Burial will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 12:00 PM until the time of service 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
