Gene would be the first one to tell you that one of the most fulfilling days of his life was the day that he married his wife Sonja. These two begun the rest of their lives on December 7, 1963. Sonja explained that she will always remember Gene for the honorable and steadfast man that he was. She also will miss how he always made the bad days better, as well as how he would always find a solution for the challenges they faced together. Sonja indicated that she was so fortunate to spend her life with him, and says she knows that he was aware of how she felt. In addition, Michael Kammer recites that his father will remain in his heart as a man that dedicated so much of his life to taking care of his wife and son.
