Elizabeth Ginn Alford of Lawrenceville, GA (daughter of S.A. and Lois Spears Ginn-Covington, GA) went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 86. After attending Agnes Scott College, she reared her three daughters whom she loved dearly. Liz was a member of the Gwinnett County School Board in the early 1970’s, and then owned and operated Alford’s Gas until she retired. Liz enjoyed playing in numerous bridge clubs. She was an active member of Phoebe Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Lawrenceville. Preceding her in death are her parents, S.A. and Lois Ginn; sisters, Frances G. Stark, MarthaEllen Ginn McCord, and brother, Rucker Ginn. She is survived by her three loving and devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Ginn (Tim) Smith, Edie (Keith) Thomas, Ellen (Drew) Slayton all of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Alex Smith, Tinsley (Steve) Ryskoski, Brian (Lindsey) Thomas, Claire Hallock, Stephen (Brittany) Thomas, Thomas (Katlin) Slayton, Katharine (Zach) Freiburg; nine great grandchildren; sister, Stephanie (Billy) Fortson of Covington, GA; sister-in-law, Jane C. Alford of Lawrenceville, GA; and niece, Captain Haley Jones, U.S.A.F; as well as a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 23rd from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. A Memorial Graveside Service honoring the life of Liz will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 3:30pm at Shadowlawn Cemetery on Atha Street in Lawrenceville with Rev. Inman Houston officiating. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville Building Fund, 165 S. Clayton St. Lawrenceville, GA 30046 in memory of Elizabeth Ginn Alford.
