Dorothea C. Dinapoli

September 12, 1934 - February 2, 2022

Dorothea C. DiNapoli, age 87, was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and retired to Toms River, NJ. Dorothea was a true Jersey girl! She always helped her friends and neighbors when they needed her. She was a fantastic cook and baker. She married the love of her life, Daniel, and learned how to cook authentic Italian food from her mother-in-law but never forgot her Irish roots. She loved being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She raised her daughter, Mary Catherine and son Danny near the Jersey shore in Old Bridge, NJ. She moved to Georgia to live with her daughter and Son-in-law Joseph after her husband Daniel passed away. She was able to spend quality time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter in Georgia. She was a strong woman who put up a good fight to conquer many illnesses over the years and despite pain and suffering she would always say she was “fine.” She passed away on 2/2/22 at 11:58 pm from post-op complications after emergency hip surgery due to a fall and fracture. She will always live on in the hearts of me and my husband Joe, my brother Danny, her 6 grandchildren and their partners, great-granddaughter, sister and brother-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. We take comfort in our faith that she will watch over us from heaven with Jesus, all the Angels and Saints, her parents, my Dad, Daniel DiNapoli, (her “Rock”) and all of our family who have previously passed away. The funeral mass to celebrate the life of Dorothea Dinapoli will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Lilburn, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. There will be a rosary service at the funeral home on Sunday, February 6, 2022 beginning at 5:00 PM. Following her services here in GA she will return to NJ to be interred next to her husband.
