Please select this link to view the livestream service for Dena Jones Mrs. Dena Starr Jones, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilmer L. “G. L.” Jones; her daughter, Sarah Nussman; her sister, Katherine Smith; and many other loved ones dear to her during her 89 years of life. She is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Kay Thompson Stanley (Ed) of Dacula, GA and Linda Thompson Crafton (Scott) of Marietta, GA; son, Glenn Thompson of Winder, GA; Marla Jones Bennett (Tommy) of Peachtree Corners; Robert Jones and Tony Cape. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, David Watson (Jaime), D.J. Watson (Teia), Josh Crafton (Ashton), Kelsey Phillips (Taylor), Starr Story (William), Jesse Nussman, Amy Nussman, Justin Clark, K C Stanley, Elizabeth Bennett, Yancey Bennett (Maggie) and Austin Cape. Mrs. Jones was born in Hapeville, Georgia on May 9, 1932. She graduated from Brown High School in 1950. She completed business school and worked in office administration support in several positions. Her final employment was with CDC where she retired in her mid-sixties. Mrs. Jones had a deep and abiding Christian faith. She loved music, shopping, reading her Bible and praying. For several years she participated in square dancing. Her greatest love in life was her family. The family wishes to thank Ms. Tricia and Ms. Calina at Hamilton Mill Personal Care Home for their loving care of our dear Ms. Dena. Due to COVID-19 regulations and increase in the different variants, all guest and family members attending the visitation and service are asked to continue social distancing and to bring & wear a mask as required as you enter the funeral home. The Service to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Dena Starr Jones will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Dr. Adam Hilderbrandt officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 1 pm at the funeral home.
