Debra Elaine Talley, 69, of Dekalb County, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. T. Lavon Talley (2017). She is survived by her mother, Valda W. Talley; brother, Doug Talley (Cindy) of Fishers, Indiana; nephews, Steve (Lyndon) Talley of Woodland Hills, California, and Brett (Courtney) Talley of Cumming, Georgia; great-nieces and nephew, Julia, Berkley, Daphne, and Foster.Debra had been an active member of Faith Community Church for over 55 years. She was an avid watercolor painter and was especially passionate about painting scenes from her travels in Ireland. She loved her family and treasured the times she was able to spend seeing Star Wars movies with her nephews. She taught elementary aged students in Chambers County, Alabama, following her graduation from Auburn University. She moved back to Dekalb County, Georgia, and taught for 22 years in Gwinnett County. Her collection of CDs and books were witness to her love of reading and music. She enjoyed her piano until rheumatoid arthritis made it difficult to play.The funeral service to celebrate the life of Debra Elaine Talley will be held on Saturday, June, 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Ms. Talley will be buried at Rest haven Memorial Gardens in Lanett, AL.
