Deborah Caldwell Hagood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Deborah Jean (Caldwell) Hagood was called home to Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the age of 72. Debbie was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on June 9, 1950. As an infant, she and her parents moved to Los Angeles, California and lived there until the age of 12, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia and proudly became a lifetime Georgia Peach. Debbie was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Glenn Hagood, Jr., her parents, Cliff M. Caldwell, Sr. and Dorothy Mitchell Caldwell, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Ruth Hagood. She is survived by her adored children, Leslie Duda (husband David), Genny Hathaway (husband Mat), Benjamin Hagood (wife Kelli), and Emily Pocoroba (husband Victor). She was a loving grandmother to her nine beautiful grandchildren, Katherine, Andrew, Elizabeth, Wesley, Miriam, Lex, Titus, Laelyn, and Vivien. She is also survived by her sister, Candie Caldwell Gissell; brother, Cliff M. Caldwell (wife Tracy). Debbie graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta, Georgia in 1968 where she met so many of her lifelong friends, loved them dearly, and remained connected to them her entire life. While attending Shorter College she found a great church, West Rome Baptist Church, pastored by Dr. Jerry Vines. It was there that she trusted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Debbie’s faith grew when she and Glenn became members of First Baptist Church Atlanta. Whenever the church doors were open, Debbie and family could be found participating in the Atlanta Passion Play, summer and winter productions, youth group, Sunday school, and choir. After college she worked as an Executive Assistant for the Downtown YMCA, and later became an Executive Assistant at Cox Financial. Debbie is now at peace; she has no more pain and her body is fully restored. If you could see her now, she is walking the heavenly streets of gold with Jesus. It is her eternal desire for all those family and friends whom she loved to also trust Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Debbie’s life, will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 11:00am in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Atlanta, off I-285, 4400 North Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA., with a short visitation at 10:00am. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Tom Wages Funeral Home, 3705 Hwy 78W. Snellville, Georgia, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
