I was deeply saddened to learn of "Candy's" death. She was my closest friend when I was growing up on East Second Street and she lived on Front Street in Perrysburg, Ohio. We spent so much time together throughout elementary school and at the EUB Church where my dad served as pastor for 13 years. We lost touch when my family moved when I was in high school. We reconnected a few times when Candy and Earl lived in Florida. In recent years, it was good to be in touch occasionally on Facebook. In fact, she posted something on my page as recently as January 25th when I was vacationing in Sarasota. Rest in God's peace, dear friend!

I remember Candace as a compassionate, full of faith, trustworthy and skilled person who always was there to serve those who were going through difficult times. I am so grateful that I was able to serve along side her in Stephen Ministry. Candace will be missed tremendously.

My heart is broken because I will dearly miss my friend, Candace. We met 2 years ago when she and Earl was in Walter's Bible Study and we began sitting with each other at the 11a worship service. Then we started a small Bible study group of 5 women who met at each other's homes and these studies were very special to all of us. Candace then joined me in working with Jackie at the SE Gwinnett Co-op Garden and also accepted my invitation to become a Stephen Minister. I know that her experience with being a Stephen Minister was very special to her. Her love and friendship was joyful and I loved her enthusiasm and love of knowing Jesus; butterflies, insects, and birds. Candace was a bird watcher and I remember her spotting a rare red bird and she stopped the car to watch it and she wanted me to take a picture; but, I wasn't fast enough! Her excitement at spotting this bird was so fun to experience. "Our loss is heaven's gain." I will always remember Candace with love in my heart.
