William “Billy” Edward Taylor, II., age 57 of Stone Mountain, GA., passed away Monday, March 28, 2022. Billy is survived by his father, William Edward Taylor; mother, Winford Charlene Taylor; siblings, Kristy Jo Kroll, Robert Scott Taylor, and Traci Layne Taylor; nephews and nieces, Joshua Scott McDowell, William Charles McDowell, Celeste Marie Velasco, Chelsea Drew Hagen; great-nieces and nephews, Audrey Turner, Avery Turner, Scout Hagan, and DJ Turner. Billy was born in Guymon, Oklahoma, on June 3rd, 1964, and moved with his family to Georgia in 1968. The family eventually settled in Lilburn, Georgia, where Billy attended Parkview High School and then graduated from Brookwood High School in 1982. Billy never wanted his life to be defined by or limited after a car accident in 1987. He graduated from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia with a Finance BBA in 1990 and was an Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity member. For thirty-two years, Billy was the CFO of the family business, Expedited Transportation Services Inc. Billy loved attending sporting events, concerts, and festivals with friends and family, and he took an active role in educating his young nieces and nephews when it came to both music and sports. Billy spent many weekends throughout his life hosting large gatherings for family and friends at his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia, or boating and fishing at Lake Sinclair. He will be remembered for his intelligence and quick wit, great sense of values, and love of family and traditions. Billy courageously fought every day to live his life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. The memorial service to celebrate the life of William Edward Taylor, II will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 9, 2022 prior to the service from12:00 PM until the time of service 1:00 PM at the funeral home. The family invites all to join at Summits Wayside Tavern in Snellville, GA, following the service to raise a toast to celebrate the life of Billy.
